Our Executive Director joined Team Nigeria at the 2025 GCAN Workshop in Nairobi, contributing to high-level discussions on integrating climate, gender, and nutrition into development policies, and earning commendation for outstanding project milestones.
From June 17–19, 2025, the Gender, Climate, and Nutrition (GCAN) Workshop convened in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together country partners from Nigeria, Senegal, Kenya, India, and Ethiopia. The event aimed to strengthen collaboration, share lessons on policy engagement, and advance the integration of climate, gender, and nutrition into state and national programs.
The workshop featured active participation from International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) representatives, including Elizabeth Bryan, Mr. Bedru Balana, and Ara Go, who led key sessions and facilitated insightful discussions.
Nigeria was proudly represented by four GCAN team members:
- Professor Musa Yakasai – Vice Chancellor, Aliko Dangote University (Kano State Team Lead)
- Mr. Yohanna Moses – Executive Director, ECF (Adamawa State Team Lead)
- Mr. Abba Bello Yakasai – Kano State Team Member
- Mr. Hamza Muhammad – Adamawa State Team Member
Team Nigeria received commendation for its outstanding contributions and the significant milestones achieved under the GCAN project.
The workshop concluded with a memorable group dinner at The View, Mövenpick Hotel & Residences, Nairobi — providing participants with an excellent opportunity to network, reflect, and further strengthen regional partnerships.
