How the Green Adamawa Project Began
ECF has been advocating and promoting climate action in communities and schools across Adamawa State, and engaging government, farmers, women's groups, academic institutions and other stakeholders on environmental issues.
One of those conversations, with the Governor in 2019, gave birth to the Green Adamawa Project. Working with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, ECF launched GAP with a flag-off at Government House, Yola.
No development can be achieved in any society where peace is fragile or absent.
GAP's mandate is to plant four million trees in four years. Since the launch, tree planting has moved into schools, markets and places of worship, and a community member has even donated 20,000 seedlings to his own community.
